“TV Goodbye” Carpet

The carpet “TV, Goodbye” was created in collaboration with the gallery of carpets and tapestries handmade by Eugene Shutko ‘Atelier Choutko’. A carpet depicting a standard television tuning table is not just a Pop Art gesture. It reflects the important cultural phenomenon of our time – the end of the television era. Once the TV was in every living room, and everyone knew this table. Now that television as media has given way to the Internet and streaming services, the tuning table means nothing. However, thanks to the multi-knot carpet that people will use for hundreds of years, this visual symbol of the bye-gone era will be a testament of our time for our descendants. This carpet is an ironic and nostalgic artifact, hello to the future from the past. Remember Queen’s song “Radio Ga-Ga”: “All we hear is Radio Ga-Ga.” Our descendants will see “TV, Goodbye”.
